Philosophy

Pilates exercise

Classical Pilates is a holistic training system developed by Joseph Pilates that combines breath, control, and precise movements. It focuses on the deep core muscles ("powerhouse"), a stable center, and proper spinal alignment. The exercises are usually performed in flowing, controlled sequences on a mat.

Classic Pilates

Pilates pose back

Modern Pilates is based on the fundamental principles of classical Pilates but is more open to new training approaches and current findings from physiotherapy and fitness. The exercises are primarily performed on a mat and are often varied more dynamically to better suit different body types, goals, and daily fitness levels. The aim remains a strong core, improved posture, and greater flexibility.

Modern Pilates

Yogilates is a blend of yoga and Pilates: It combines the flowing stretches and breathing elements of yoga with the powerful, controlled core work of Pilates. The workout simultaneously improves flexibility, balance, and posture, and often feels calm yet invigorating. It's ideal for anyone who wants a gentle workout while still becoming more stable and stronger.

Pilates Reformers

Reformer Pilates is a dynamic, full-body workout that uses controlled resistance and is particularly effective at building strength and stability. With modern reformer equipment, it allows for precise, joint-friendly training, strengthens the deep muscles, improves balance and coordination, and can be individually adapted to any fitness level.

FAQ

  • Lemony Pilates distinguishes itself through its boutique character, small groups and genuine personal attention.
Our focus is on technique, not quantity: We guide every movement, provide precise corrections, and tailor the training to each individual. Furthermore, we concentrate exclusively on Pilates – without hybrid concepts or a mix of different class types.

This way you get a workout that focuses entirely on the health benefits of Pilates: better posture, stronger core, more stability and long-term well-being.

  • Getting started is easy: First, choose one of our beginner classes and book your first class directly online. During the initial session, we'll discuss your goals, assess your technique, and tailor the exercises to your current fitness level. This ensures a safe, supported start with a clear understanding of your journey at Lemony Pilates.

  • All classes are marked as EN/DE mixed classes. Our instructors speak both languages, but teach primarily in German. Please let us know if you don't speak German so we can provide you with the best possible support.

  • Please arrive at the studio at least 10 minutes before class starts. This allows enough time for check-in and ensures we can begin on time. While delays can occur en route, the class cannot wait for individual participants. If you are not there on time, your class will be forfeited.

  • If you need to cancel a class, please do so online at least 24 hours before it starts – for both group classes and private classes.

Unfortunately, if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, your class fee will not be refunded.

If you need to cancel at the last minute, please still cancel online so that someone from the waiting list can take your place. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Yes, you can send us an email to pilateslemony@gmail.com if you would like to pause your membership for the coming month. Please note that this will automatically extend your membership by another month, and a paused month must always be followed by an active one. Two consecutive paused months are not possible.
